Gameweek 10 of the 2023-24 Premier League season begins on Friday 27th October, with Tottenham Hotspur travelling across the River Thames to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. ⚽

Concluding the weekend’s action is the Manchester derby, with Man City looking to keep pace with league leaders Spurs by tucking away their local rivals Man Utd. ⚽ Crystal Palace v Tottenham (Friday 20:00 BST) ⚽

Crystal Palace suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Newcastle last weekend, which came a little out of the blue considering that Roy Hodgson’s side had only conceded seven goals across their opening eight league games. The Eagles are desperately missing wingers Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, with neither expected to return from injury until after the upcoming international break.

Spurs, on the other hand, are flying after opening up a two-point gap at the top of the table by beating Fulham 2-0 on Monday evening. In-form attacking duo Son Heung-Min and James Maddison both scored, and while it is a quick turnaround before facing Palace four days later, we think they have too much for their opponents to handle on current form.

⚽ Manchester United v Manchester City (Sunday 15:30 GMT) ⚽

With the clocks going back an hour in England during the early hours of the morning, this Manchester derby is being played an hour earlier than Sunday afternoon’s usual televised slot.

Erik ten Hag’s side are certainly riding their luck at the moment, having won three successive games by a single goal. Late strikes from Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot defeated Brentford and Sheffield United respectively, before Andre Onana saved Copenhagen’s injury time penalty to help his side hold onto their 1-0 win in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Man City, meanwhile, returned to winning ways against Brighton last weekend, with goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland helping the Citizens to a 2-1 victory. Haaland subsequently opened his CL account for the season in a 3-1 victory against Young Boys. It would be fair to say Pep Guardiola’s side are not firing on all cylinders yet, but we expect them to rise to the occasion at Old Trafford.
